1. General Policy
1Above Academy, LLC seeks to provide students with clear and consistent terms concerning refunds for educational courses.
Unless otherwise stated for a particular course, the following refund policy applies.
2. Refunds Before Course Commencement
A student may request cancellation and a full refund before beginning an online self-study course or, for a scheduled instructor-led course, before the scheduled course begins.
A course will be considered to have commenced when:
- For an online self-study course, the student accesses substantive course instructional content; or
- For a classroom, webinar, or other instructor-led course, the scheduled instructional session begins.
3. Refunds After Course Commencement
Once a student has commenced a course, course fees are generally non-refundable.
The Provider may, in its discretion, issue a full or partial refund when extraordinary circumstances exist, including:
- A material technical failure attributable to the Provider that prevents course completion;
- Duplicate enrollment or duplicate payment;
- An erroneous charge;
- The Provider's inability to deliver the purchased course; or
- Other circumstances in which the Provider determines that a refund is appropriate.
4. Completed Courses
No refund will ordinarily be issued after a student has completed a course, completed the final course assessment, received a certificate of completion, or had course completion credit reported to NMLS.
5. Failure to Complete
Failure to complete a course within an applicable enrollment or course-access period does not automatically entitle a student to a refund.
Where appropriate, the Provider may permit additional course access or transfer the student's registration rather than issue a refund.
6. Regulatory or Eligibility Issues
Students are responsible for determining which education requirements apply to their individual license or licensing jurisdiction.
The Provider will make reasonable efforts to accurately describe the NMLS approval and applicability of each course. A student's purchase of a course that does not satisfy the student's particular licensing requirement will not automatically entitle the student to a refund if the Provider accurately identified the course and its applicable credit.
The Provider may nevertheless issue a refund or permit a course transfer where appropriate.
7. Provider-Cancelled Courses
If the Provider cancels a course and cannot provide a reasonable alternative course or rescheduled offering acceptable to the student, the student will be entitled to a full refund of amounts paid for the cancelled course.
8. Refund Requests
Refund requests must be submitted to:
Email: support@1aboveacademy.com
The request should include the student's name, course name, date of purchase, and reason for requesting the refund.
Approved refunds will be returned, where practicable, to the original payment method. Processing times may vary based upon the payment processor and financial institution.
9. No Effect on Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to eliminate or restrict any refund or cancellation right that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable federal or state law.
